Prearranging for yourself
More and more people are thinking about prearranging their own funeral and for good reason; who knows more about your own wishes than you do? Prearranging helps alleviate a tremendous amount of stress off of your family. Many times we see family members dealing with not only the confusion of trying to please everyone idea's of what they think the deceased wanted, but also difficulty of dealing with their own grief. Trying to cope with both things at the same time is extremely difficult and it's why prearranging makes sense.
Prearranging for a loved one
When the time comes for a family to start discussing the details of a loved one's final years, the many choices for funeral arrangements will need to be discussed. Putting these arrangements into place now will not only help at the time of passing but it also allows for your loved one to be involved and give their consent on their funeral decisions.
The Difference Between Prepaying and Prearranging
Prearranging is the process of deciding on exactly what services you would like and contracting for those services with Basic Funerals. This assures that your family members know your final wishes and provides a road map on what you want.
Prepaying is paying upfront for services that you prearrange. The funds that we take now for the prearrangements will go directly into a trust or annuity account where they will remain until the death occurs. Once the death occurs the funds are released to us so we may perform the services you purchased on the prearrangement contract. Once you pay in full for the services of the pre-paid contract those services are guaranteed. You will not have to pay any additional fees for those particular services in the future. Any interest accrued in the trust account will go toward covering any inflation in costs. If there are any funds remaining after the present day costs are covered, the remaining funds will go back to the estate of the deceased.
